SM Shaikat is a prominent Bangladeshi social change advocate and human rights activist, with over 15 years of experience championing youth rights, democratic participation, and community development. Recognized globally, he was elected Youth Advisor to UN-Habitat in 2015 with the highest youth vote from Asia-Pacific and named a global young leader by Women Deliver. Shaikat’s influence extends across networks such as UN Women’s 30 for 2030, WHO’s CSO Commission, the Swedish Institute Leaders fellowship, and the U.S. State Department’s IVLP. He has been honored as a Bayer Scholar, Asia Young Leader for Democracy, 120 Under 40 Champion, and 2024 Young Global Changer Recoupling Award recipient, furthering youth advocacy and rights protection in Bangladesh.
