In 2015, Shaikat was elected as the Youth Advisor to UN-Habitat, receiving the highest youth vote from the Asia-Pacific region. His global recognition extends to networks such as UN Women’s 30 for 2030 and the World Health Organization’s Civil Society Commission. He has been honored as a Bayer Scholar, Asia Young Leader for Democracy, and 120 Under 40 Champion. In 2024, he received the Young Global Changer Recoupling Award, furthering his commitment to youth advocacy and rights protection in Bangladesh.
Shaikat’s influence is evident through his leadership in various international initiatives aimed at empowering young people, advancing gender equality, and fostering community development. His recent accolade, the Intercultural Achievement Award from the Austrian Government, underscores his dedication to promoting intercultural dialogue and understanding.
